1. DURATION
- The Competition will run on-air on YFM and East Coast Radio (ECR) from [21st May 2025] to [30th May 2025].
- The grand prize draw will take place on Friday, [30th May] after the final competition moment.
- No entries will be accepted outside the Competition Period.
2. WHO CAN ENTER
To qualify as an entrant, you must meet all the following requirements:
• Be 18 (eighteen) years of age or older.
• Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.
• Reside permanently within the Republic of South Africa.
• Not be disqualified under clause 6 below.
3. HOW TO ENTER
- Listeners must enter via the dedicated WhatsApp Bot line [075 339 8226] by sending a keyword [Absa Sweet 16 Together] as prompted during the radio broadcast.
- After initiating the entry, listeners must provide their full details and answer the following:
- Are you an Absa client?
- Are you an Absa Rewards member?
- Would you like to be contacted to become an Absa client or join Rewards?
- Do you opt-in to receive more information from Absa?
Once the registration is complete, a confirmation message will be sent, which includes an Absa Rewards infographic to help the listener prepare for the competition.
4. ON-AIR COMPETITION FORMAT
- Each day during the competition period, two entrants will be randomly selected from the WhatsApp entries and taken to air.
- Each contestant will be given 30 seconds to answer as many Absa Rewards-related questions as possible.
- The listener who answers the most questions correctly in the given time will win R5000 in cash.
- In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker question will be asked. The first contestant to shout their name and answer correctly will be deemed the winner. If they answer incorrectly, the other contestant will be declared the winner.
- The winner will then be asked on-air whether they are an Absa Rewards member. If they are, an additional R1600 will be added to their prize (pending verification).
- All winners are subject to verification before prizes are awarded.
5. GRAND PRIZE DRAW
• After the final daily competition moment, one entrant will be randomly selected from all valid entries to win the grand prize: R16,000 cash prize, courtesy of Absa Rewards.
• The winner will be paid within 20 (twenty) business days.
6. DISQUALIFICATION
You may not enter or win this Competition if:
• You have won a competition on YFM or ECR in the past 60 days.
• You are a director, employee, agent, or consultant of Absa, MediaHeads 360, or the participating radio stations.
• You are an immediate family member of any of the above.
• You misuse the WhatsApp line or submit excessive entries.
7. GENERAL TERMS
• The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash unless stated otherwise.
• We may substitute a prize with another of similar commercial value if necessary.
• By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
• All entrants must confirm they have read and accept the Ts & Cs and agree to Absa’s
Privacy Notice:
I have read the Ts & Cs consent to the use of my personal data.
• If you do not accept the Ts & Cs or Privacy Notice, you may not participate.
• If the winner cannot be contacted, does not accept the prize within 7 (seven) days, or is disqualified, the prize may be forfeited, and a new winner selected.
• If required by law or instructed by regulatory authorities, we may end or amend this Competition without prior notice.
• We accept no responsibility for entries not received due to technical issues.
• By entering, you consent to the use of your name and/or image for publicity for up to 12 months, provided you give written consent.
